Maternal and child health is an important component that needs to be considered in efforts to improve the quality of public health. Mothers need various monitoring of obstetrical health from the early stages of pregnancy until after delivery, as well as the health of children under five, with the help of health workers, in this case the midwife. With a regular and controlled inspection process, the development of maternal and child health can be monitored, and important things that are at risk can be identified and anticipated from the start.
The Independent Midwife Practice (PMB) Kasih Bunda, is a midwifery clinic having its address at Griya Bandung Asri complex 1 block D number 264 RT 05 RW 14 Bojongsoang, Bandung Regency. PMB provides various midwifery services ranging from pregnancy preparation, prenatal care, ultrasound, pregnancy exercise, childbirth, family planning, immunization, baby photo shoot, and baby spa. PMB also provides various equipment and drugs to support patient needs. As health workers who are close to the community, the role of midwives in PMB needs to be supported by technological means in the form of a system that is able to record midwifery service activities and transactions. The problem that occurs is that the existing data collection system is still written manually in a book for all types of services. Data collection is done repeatedly so that the administration becomes piled up and takes a long time. The midwife who handles the administration must look for the data that has been previously recorded and rewrite it in the new data collection when the patient visits. Likewise with financial reports, so far patients have not been given proof of payment and there is no detailed recording of income transactions from each type of service and operational financial expenses, but only weekly and monthly income reports. In addition, there were incidents related to the safety of the clinic environment, namely several times there were losses and attempted crimes outside and inside the clinic.
To support maternal and child health service activities at the Kasih Bunda clinic, the Abdimas collaboration team of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering work together to help provide applications for recording midwifery services and php-based financial reports along with security monitoring tools for midwives. Our first activity was carried out on June 12, 2021, namely the handover of CCTV equipment, laptops, and printers to support the security system and services in midwives. Direct installation of CCTV by the abdimas team at the midwifery clinic at several important points that can monitor every activity that is in the clinic room and outside the clinic to monitor parking spaces for patients.
In addition to installing tools for security monitoring, the team of lecturers and students from FIT and FTE also held website-based application socialization for online clinics on June 17, 2021, which was attended by midwives and medical personnel at PMB Kasih Bunda Clinic. The application developed includes features ranging from patient registration when coming to the clinic so that there is no queue buildup. Various examination services at PMB are stored in the application, ranging from patient data, types of services, financial transactions from service activities, as well as financial report features that can be used by PMB internally to manage operational income and expenses. We also got a positive response from the midwifery clinic, they felt helped by the community service activities from Telkom University.
