On Thursday, 18 March 2021, a Webinar with the theme “Towards Excellent Vocational 2021” was held which was held from 09.30 WIB to 12.00 WIB through the ZOOM platform.
This activity was opened by the Indonesian Private Vocational Director, Mr. Dr. Agus Purnomo. He said that the latest policies or programs to be disseminated to all members who can immediately respond to policies and programs launched by vocational and are also given the same opportunity for Industries which become aid programs or grants to make it easier to collaborate with vocational education.
Then Mr. Arfianto Fahmi, S.T., M.M as Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Telkom University who acted as a moderator in this webinar activity gave a little opening statement. He said that in 2020 and 2021, the government through the Ministry of Education and Culture, in this case through the Directorate General of Vocational Education, has launched several main policies and programs with the development of this content, often through programs that become the foundation and driving force for undergraduate vocational education. applied from Diploma 3 to guarantee that vocational applied undergraduate graduates can be accepted in the industrial world later.
This activity also invited the Secretary of the Executive Board of PT Ban-PT, Mr. Prof. Agus Setiabudi as a resource person 1. He explained the “Adjustment” of Accreditation Rankings for the Study Program of Advancement Level (D3 to Applied Bachelor).
He argues that in its implementation later when we talk about this activity, it will use the form of high changes and also for its accreditation, after obtaining permission, it will be emphasized on the forms that are in the applied undergraduate standard and that adjusts whether the accreditation of its existence in D3 is whether it is accredited. using the old standard, namely 7 standards, or using the new standard, namely 9 standards.
Also invited was Mr. Wikan Sakarito from the Directorate General of Vocational Education as a resource person for this webinar activity.
He explained that D3 graduate students must be equivalent to D4 or S1 because they can complement each other.
D3 graduate students are more practical in terms of practice, while D4 or S1 leads to theoretical aspects so that it is hoped that in the industrial world, D3 graduates can be more utilized so that they can match the D4 or S1 graduates.
After the presentation of the material by Mr. Wikan Sakarito from the Directorate General of Vocational Education as a Speaker 2, the workshop was closed by the Chancellor of Telkom University, Mr. Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya.
He thinks that by holding this workshop, it is hoped that the improvement of the coveted undergraduate or applied graduates can be in line with the hope that this vocational education can be more viewed by the public.
Hopefully, this workshop is expected to provide a deeper understanding of vocational education in Indonesia.
